Sounds of water
RUFO CRIADO
January 20th - April 09th, 2012

Sala Rekalde presents an exhibition of paintings by Rufo Criado (Aranda de Duero, 1952), an artist of note within the contemporary painting scene today whose work has evolved from traditional mediums to digital image creation.

The exhibition presents around 40 works made from 1994 to 2010. Paintings in several mediums, light boxes and a projection that are closely linked to the experience of water, some of them in a very direct way and others in a more evocative and abstract ways.

The project Rufo Criado proposes for Sala Rekalde is structured around the work Sounds of water, which is shown complete for the first time in Bilbao and is comprised of a sequence of ten paintings executed in 2002.

Vexations
ZUHAR IRURETAGOIENA
January 10th - February 12th, 2012

Presentation of the project Vexations produced by Zuhar Iruretagoiena during a three month residency at Nekatoenea, Domaine d'Abbadia, Hendaye, thanks to the 2011 Rekalde grant and in collaboration with CPIE Littoral Basque / Euskal Itsasbazterra and the French Institute of Bilbao.

In the shape of an exhibition the project resolves a deferred action, showing photographs, sculptures and other elements that have somehow been distilled in relation to an action that occurred in another time and another place.
